Housing crisis Leiden: Meeting
In Leiden, there is a big problem concerning student housing. There are far too few student houses for far too many students. This causes a large shortage of houses, high rents and enables dirty landlords to neglect necessary maintenance.
ROOD, the youth wing of the Dutch Socialist Party, has been campaigning, together with students, for a solution to this problem. Leiden University profits from the high tuition fees international students pay and therefore actively encourages them to come to Leiden. However, we find it unacceptable the University ignores the increased housing problems this causes for both international and Dutch students.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to discuss these problems with us on wednesday 19 September. On this night, we want to draw up an action plan, together with students, to confront this issue. Everyone is welcome at 7:00 PM, Marnixstraat 18 Leiden.
